MENU: Hey GMT how have you been? I hear you just got back from South Africa.. What have you been up to?

GMT: I was over there for a six month holiday and DJ tour. I played in Cape Town ,Durban ,Pretoria, Johannesburg, Vaal etc. I also took Hard Kandy to South Africa and launched it in Johannesburg and Durban.

MENU: Tell us about what’s new in the Hard style scene?

GMT: Well, it’s always growing and changing with the times. I’m more into the dark underground stuff and have been writing many of my own new tunes.

MENU: You've just been booked as the first NZ'er to play at DEFQON1.. Congrats! Tell us how it all happened?

GMT: I’ve been pushing Hard style in NZ for years and have been told many times that its going nowhere. After many years of pushing and proving myself, I got events to play at outside NZ and slowly started making a name for myself around the globe. Then I got the opportunity to play at Defqon.1.

MENU: The line-up is HUGE and you’ve played alongside some of the heavyweights on the bill before, whom else should the punters look out for?

GMT: It’s hard to name a few. Anyone that is on the line-up is there because they’re at the top of their game. I suggest you run around the whole time watching everyone!

MENU: Would you say this has been the highlight of your career so far?

GMT: YES! I always told myself I would stop mixing once I get to play at Defqon.1. Once I achieved that, I changed my way of thinking and want to see how far I can get.

MENU: Five years on UPFM, are you planning to get back on the air waves?

GMT: I would love to! UPFM is and was a large part of my life. From selling the idea for my first show to Jarra and then many years later Southee's; I’d love to get back on-air and destroy it with Hardstyle tunes once again.

MENU: You’ve been in the game a long time, things have changed but you still rep the Vinyl. Respect. What’s the hype behind a Vinyl only set all about?

GMT: I'm a Vinyl junkie at heart. I used to go shopping every Wednesday before my radio show at Nick’s old record shop (Criminal Records) and I would spend four hours listening to tunes and chatting to Nick about the good old days. Then things changed; records became hard to get so I decided to move to Serato (NZ Made). What I love about Serato is that I can still spin my records and my own tunes on Vinyl live to a crowd and have full control of what I’m doing instead of playing a CD.

MENU: What’s in the pipeline for GMT after DEFQCON1..?

GMT: Lots of big stuff, I have some of my own tunes coming out, and have already been booked for events around the world.

MENU: How can people get hold of you?
