Ministry of Sound

Gidday Gidday, Kia ora and time for another update on what’s going down with Ministry of Sound this Month in NZ!

Big news is that the 10 Years Of The Annual compilation has hit the stores running! We mentioned last month that this is a double CD from yesteryear until today with the top dog tracks of every annual of the last decade – you’ve got everyone on there from Eric Prydz, Armand Van Helden, Empire Of The Sun, The Presets, Tiga, Bob Sinclar, Martin Solveig and more and more and more! Mixed by the originators of the annual, scene legends John Course and Mark Dynamix, if this comp doesn’t stir a few great clubbing memories up from the vaults then you obviously either don’t go out enough, or have amnesia! Grab a copy of this very special compilation ASAP if you hold any place in your heart for dance music history.

(As a quick aside whilst on the topic of dance history, we can’t say how excited we are about MYLO returning to NZ in September – that one really came out of nowhere and you can bet we’ll be out in full force for a rare appearance of such a pioneer of electronic music)

Also of note forthcoming August 7th on the compilations front is a cheeky little number called In the Club 3 and it’s all about the new club jams! Overall a very pumping and listenable CD, the double disc features all of the latest from the likes of Swedish House Mafia, Tiesto, Example, Benny Benassi, Adrian Lux and more, some of which is wholly unreleased yet – so if you’re an avid clubber hungry for freshness don’t let this one fly under the radar!

What about MOS parties I hear you screaming? Well the next Ministry party is hitting very shortly – 7th August to be precise, under the Trance Nation umbrella, and I can tell you it’s going to be one MAMMOTH night! Featuring the stellar DJ Marlo along with an ace supporting lineup of the likes of Angela Fisken, Daniel Farley, Sam Hill, Defcon-1, Kurt Erickson, Marty, and 20 others, across 3 zones at the mighty 519 venue – this party is perfect for hands in the air rave lovers, but there really will be something for everyone as the DJs cover off all shapes, sizes, and genres. Tickets are flying out the door already and are available from www.1-night.co.nz or www.iticket.co.nz so get in there quick! As for the compilation, unfortunately you won’t be able to get your hands on a tangible copy as its digital only, but we highly recommend lovers of their trance to jump on iTunes and grab the mix that Marlo has put together on this one.

So something old, something new, something uplifting, and something huge… Should be enough to satisfy everyone… until next month!
