For a pair of continuous mix CDs jam-packed with bassline heavy dubstep and titled “No Frills Dubstep”, you’d be left thinking you’re only going to get 10-12 tracks per CD. But the title is actually completely misleading – inside this monster pair of CD’s, you’re actually presented with mixes from four DJs spanning 40 tracks in total!

Across this 2 hour long compilation you’ll hear the latest dubstep from Tiki Tane, Bullet Proof, Skism, PNC, The Checks and even a bit of Noisia thrown in for good measure. CD1 is tastefully mixed up to track 10 by homegrown heavyweight dubstep producers ‘Truth’, from which the “Haters” take over and bring it home from track 10 with an eclectic mix of dubstep and breaks. CD2 on the other hand is energetically mixed by ‘Micky Slim’ and is taken home after track 10 by Auckland based DJ/Producer ‘Daniel Farley’. Overall, I felt CD2 was much more upbeat and contained some big tunes that I could leave on repeat all day!

If you’re the type of person to go out slaying Zombies in clubs on the weekends, or online in a quick game of Left for Dead, this is one of those “face melting” albums that will keep you going.
