DJ Sir-Vere
DJ/Major Flavours/Radio presenter/TV host.
When it comes to mixtapes in New Zealand, none can lay more claim to fame than DJ Sir-Vere. Having sold over a quarter of a million CDs in New Zealand and Australia, the Major Flavours brand has become the premium property for RnB and hip-hop in Australasia. Over the last six years, this Hamilton native has toured extensively throughout Australia, and is now concentrating on gigs back home.
The biggest change for Sir-Vere in 2011 has been taking the reigns as Program Director at Mai FM. Having been associated with the station for nearly 10 years, he jumped at the chance to work for the Auckland based station. DJ Sir-Vere can now be heard weekdays on Mai FM between 12-3pm on his Lunch Breaks show, and also on the weekend with his Late Nite Hype show at 9pm.
Sir-Vere gained nationwide exposure on C4 in the early 2000s with his Holla Hour TV show on C4, and 2011 sees him returning to TV screens with Major Flavours TV on Juice TV. A one hour hip hop show at 9pm Thursdays, the show will feature guest appearances by the biggest names in NZ hip hop, and a playlist of new tracks, and classics from the past.
You can catch DJ Sir-Vere at venues across NZ, or weekly on Thursdays at Code on High Street in the Auckland CBD at 4 Play.
