Hello menu world! It seems everyone made good use of the convenient geographical location of Hcity in August and engaged in road tripping activities to a multitude of gigs in Ohakune as well as Tauranga and Auckland. London Hard House Reunion was off the scale and for me definetly the best party I have been to in a long time. Here in Hamilton F*ck Yeah with Kyle Bourke has been the highlight. September is going to hit us big time and there are some massive happenings heading our way.
WHERE’S THE PARTY AT? September will give us no time to rest with another trip to Rotorua for “Shake the Lake” on board the Lakeland Queen featuring Mt Eden & Mc Mana. Or stay in Hcity as Medicate bring you AUM Live to Flow. Most likely the next big NZ drum and bass act. If you missed them at Soundscape or got hooked then – you've gotta be there! Dubrising return to Flow on Friday, 9th September showcasing new exciting artists alongside NZ's finest, Saturday 10th September will be truly hectic and you have to run across the street between Flow and Agenda: Crushington wityh support from Domstic Cupill, Kaon, Breadman, Hybrid and a special acoustic set by Mike Scherger for all the flowcals. Agenda brings you Balze Tripp (Aus), Daniel Farley, Danny G, Tronik DJ's, Bones & Piece. Agenda shapes up to be the place to be these days after a sucessful launch of Suckerpunch in August. Watch out for the next good Friday night out of nowhere with all you favourite local Dj's and exciting newbies. Special guest from the US will be grazing the decks at Flow on the 15th September: Libery & MTEC – don't miss this. At this point I need you to pencil the 1st of October into your diary – Ant TC1 the boss of UK record label Dispatch Recordings comes to Flow for all you UK drum n bass lovers. Thanks to the team at Medicate and Future Reference.
WHAT’S THAT TASTE? Cold winter nights get me out on the search for culinary highlights outside the clone like “gastro pubs” with pretentious food at rediculous prices. I found a little oasis of heart and taste buds warming not-really-authentic-but-who-cares Mexican cuisine in the middle of Hamilton's night life department. Nestled behind Outback and The Bank at number 12 The Market Place is Mexicomidas. The owners are dedicated to fresh produce, friendly service and the simple but delicious burritos and tacos can be customized to your liking. The 15 varieties of chillie Tequilas are not for the faint hearted, but worth a try. You will be surprised! They haven't spend much time on décor or even plates (you'll see what I mean when you get there), but this kind of food doesn't need it. Grab your friends for a night out for fun, good food and general keeping it real. If you prefer a different level of entertainment in the kitchen and the dining room, please read on. A new and really exciting name came up to help us foodies to find content and satisfactions: Flash Food. Flash Food is holding regular culinary events near you, tantalizing your taste buds, taking dinner up a notch, constantly on the search for the exrtordinary. So get ready to dress up and have a brilliant time over fine food and drinks at their next event. Find them on Facebook or check out www.flashfood.co.nz
WHAT’S THAT SOUND? It is not easy these days to see beyond loud and aggressive promoting and find that truly talented Dj. The one that is devoted to the music and his crowd. The one that goes the extra mile to support and help with events across all clubs and all genres. We at Fevah FM are very proud that we have one of these remarkable and amazing talents on board – Olli G. Olli normally resides in Monkeyfeather where he educates on electro and breaks. He amazes with fearless, yet flawless mixing skills. Can easily switch between genres. And when you let him loose, he will set your night on fire. Recently he had a set just before at Flow and everyone agreed that he owned all others playing that night. Check him out on “28 Beats later” every Thursday night on Fevah FM or live and in colour at Monkeyfeather and hopefully at more gigs all over the place soon.
