Love Fashion Music

Spring! Loves it! The stepping-stone to SUMMER! A month that signifies rebirth and gives reason to pay homage to the renewal of oneself! A good month to show ya self a lil’ TLC! So this month lets keep in with theme of self-revival and talk a little less of the FASHION and MUSIC and little more on LOVE ;)

What's Hot

Recently I have made a friend who is becoming more a spiritual guru to me, teaching me lessons on enlightenment enabling me to experience a spiritual wake-up call (Thanks Chrissy!).
I was gifted a wonderful book for my b’day 'Treasure Yourself' by model and mogul mumma Miranda Kerr WHO!...BTW! has been spotted in NZ recently with husband who holds it down for the elves Orlando Bloom, who's here to film 'The Hobbit'. The empire that is Miranda Kerr is this months HOT! Both inspiring and talented her book and blog sends a strong message to nurture ourselves and helps us to discover and experience our own greatness! I know what your thinking, how on earth is it possible that someone with beauty that would piss off Aphrodite be so humble, grounded and down to earth? She sums it down to ones balance with life and spiritual understanding, while welcoming struggle and challenges and still appreciating the blessings we receive. After reading her book I found myself shifting my way of thought, rather than dwelling on negativity, I’m excited about a world of opportunities! I now believe everything happens precisely as its meant too, everything happens for a reason. Let go of the past, stop trying to predict futures and just live in the moment! Can I get an Amen! Miss Kerr also has a skincare line called Kora Organics that is plant derived and full of organic ingredients. I’m really excited to try the range and although you cannot buy the product in NZ you can order online at www.koraorganics.com check out her blog on the site also. Post baby and still bangin! A mixture of healthy eating, yoga and being a very busy career mumma contributes to her renowned killer anatomy! So start to practice positivity peeps because karma's badass! Although it won’t make you look like Miranda Kerr I can guarantee it will give you a sense of peace, faith and hope on your road to self discovery!

Fashion stalk

Enough of the bold and the beautiful, lets look at the artist behind the camera for once. Up and coming fashion photog’, 18 year old Karen Ishiguro is already rubbing shoulders with some of NZ's hottest celebs. Karen was given a camera at the age of 14 and has struggled to put it down ever since. I've worked closely with Karen (known as 'Kaz' in the industry) and her passion for what she does is truly vivid in the way she dedicates her self to each frame. Although a young rookie in her game she shows a very polished technique and is very sought after. Her work sparks the present with glimpses of the future, still managing to have a timeless feel to them. I expect big things from this girl and when she's shooting a highly paid Vogue spread in Shibuya Tokyo I hope she remembers lil ole Leo Style and this lil ole write up ;P Check her blog Seventeenstories out at http://ishigurokaren.blogspot.com or contact her on ishiguro.karen@gmail.com

Must Have

Reading has always been my fav pastime, nothing like a hot bath, scented candles, a glass of red and a good book. I recently picked up 'The Power of Now' by Eckhart Tolle and it was truly one of the best things I have ever done! This book has changed my life. It’s taught me the ability to see beyond the confines of my own mind into the power and beauty of life lived in what the author Tolle calls 'The Now' or 'Being in the present'. The basic principle Tolle teaches is quite simple – nothing exists outside the present moment. Everything apart from the present moment is illusory. The past and the future have no reality of their own. The future is a mind projection and the past is a memory trace. Therefore, the mind, which constantly conjures up thoughts, worries and plans, is a natural enemy in our path towards peace and happiness. You really learn to be aware of your thoughts enabling you to have power over mind! But don't take my word on my new awesome outlook on the awesomeness of life! Read it yourself! Also makes a great gift for the 'Woe is me" friend! And for the ladies, totes recommend the 'Treasure Yourself' book by Miranda Kerr to help embrace yourself and your individuality! For other mind, body, soul and empowering reads check out more from Eckhardt Tolle, Deepak Chopra and Louise L. Hay. Get your read on! Special thanks again to Chrissy for the spiritual guidance may you be walloped in the face with some good kick-ass Karma!

Happy Fathers Day to my Dad and to all the DESERVING Dad's out there!
