MOS Annual 10 year Compilation Review

Ministry Of Sound: The Annual 10 Year Compilation
Mixed by John Course & Mark Dynamix

10 Years is a long time in anyone’s language, especially to do with dance music, so for a collaboration to commemorate a decade of its existence you had better expect something special!

10 Years is a long time in anyone’s language, especially to do with dance music, so for a collaboration to commemorate a decade of its existence you had better expect something special!

And for the most part, special it is, this double disc is like a who’s who of club anthems over the “00’s”, Guetta, Prydz, Van Helden, Chemical Brothers, Empire Of The Sun, Basement Jaxx… and on and on! If you have been a consistent clubber for the past 5+ years this will take you back to the Met Mezzanine in it’s heyday, The deck of Coast bar at the peak of the night overlooking the harbor, the majestic awe of the St. James, A full Auckland domain for Groove In The Park… the floodgates of great memories certainly come gushing when you sit back and listen. My only qualm would be that there seems to be no reasoning to the track order, tracks flick from 2004 to 2009 and back again for not apparent point, perhaps it’d been better building the CDs chronologically so you can really get that traveling through time feel on the compilation. Overall however this is a must buy for any avid clubber of yesteryear, may even motivate you to dust off your old dancing shoes!
